Today we dissect a TGIN product
Just in case you don’t know the meaning of “TGIN”, it is an acronym for Thank God it’s natural! It is a Leave in conditioner from the United States of America.

TGIN’s Miracle repairx, protective leave in conditioner: The name alone is catchy, and it is one of the major reasons I opened my arms to this product. What is more fascinating about this product is the story behind it’s production guys! It literally melted my heart. Illd drop the story below just as it was written on the container
Not long after Harvard graduate Chris-Tia Donaldson built her successful hair care company, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and lost all of her hair.
After completing chemotherapy, her hair began to grow back, but it was dry, brittle and patchy. Remember that we all have different unique hair textures and porosity. Just for clarification and in case you are wondering, Let me mention that I am a medium porosity, high elasticity and shrinkage 4c Queen.
So, let’s jump right into this review!
Appearance
Nothing too fancy really, but decent enough as can be seen in the pictures. It is a flat cylindrical bottle with a pump that works all through its use.

Product promises
It is an intense moisturizing leave in conditioner with black castor oil and biotin that helps to reduce breakage, split ends, and repair hair damage.
This truly is the dream of every naturalista; intense moisturizing and reduction of hair breakage.
The direction for use says to to apply conditioner to wet hair and style as usual after wash (with shampoo and deep conditioner rinse out)
But my angels, me I use it every other day as part of my LOC regimen o
and it works just fine for me. Ok sometimes I skip the morning application during morning rush.
Does this product keep to its promise!
Yes it does! This is not just hype o trust me! I have used some not so rewarding hair products in the past, and I am not scared to say it as it is. But this leave in conditioner is the truth!
Of course I usually use it along side my other hair care products such as my cream and oil.
Can we talk about how yummy it smells
I can’t really place it but it has this fruity/coconut aroma. It is a kind of smell I don’t mind all over me.
Asides the smell, it does moisturize and reduce breakage.
For the period that this product was available ( I mean before I ran out) my hair thrived beyond my expectations.
It was healthier with less breakage and also super bulky. A dreamy bliss I tell you!
INGREDIENT LIST ( and TSJ’s researched benefits to the hair)
- Water
- Raw black honey : has emollient and humectant properties that add moisture to the hair follicles.
- Castor seed oil: has moisturizing properties, which could help lubricate the hair shaft, increasing flexibility and decreasing the chance of breakage
- Coconut extract ; providing moisture to tame frizz and heal breakage.
- Agave extract: super hydrating, prevents dryness and strengthens the hair
- Papaya extract: prevents bald spots and promotes hair growth
- Biotin; increases follicle growth
- Ginger extract : Aids hair growth
- Flower and fruit extract : promotes hair growth and adds to the scent of the product in general
- Shea butter : Anti inflammatory properties to reduce dryness and add shine to the hair
- Cupuacu butter: promotes deep, long lasting hydration for dry and damaged hair
- Argan kernel oil: moisturizes hair and prevents it from every day damage
- Sweet almond oil :softens and strengthens the hair
- Propanediol: increases hydration of the hair
- Cetearyl alcohol; soften the hair and stabilize the product
- Dimethicone : gives a smooth and sleek feel to the hair making detangling easier
- Behentrimonium sulphate : though has a bad reputation due to the erroneous mix up of being a sulphate, I am proud to inform you that this TGin product is sulphate free and BTS is beneficial as a mild conditioner and detangler
- Phenoxyl ethanol: used as a preservative and a great substitute for the harmful parabens
- Capryl glycol: anti microbial and anti preservation that conditions the hair still
- Do sodium edta: chelating agent to preserve the product but harmless to your hair
- Rosemary extract: stimulates healthy thick, hair growth
- Vitamin E : increases capillary circulation to the scalp thereby promoting hair growth
As you can see there is no cause for concern with the ingredient line up, just as it was mentioned on the container. This product is Sulphate free, with no parabens, lanolin, petroleum or mineral oil, nil artificial colours or animal testing.
Now back to the review
PROS
- This product smells heavenly!
- Ingredients are natural, paraben and sulphate free with no artificial colouring or animal testing
- It is quite affordable, retails for about 13.99 us Dollars/ #9000. This is a fair price for size/ volume (13.0fl.oz/384ml)
- Actually comes through with promises of intense moisturizing , prevents split ends and reducing breakage
- Pump is well constructed, it lasted all through its use
- It has a funky name TGIN : short for Thank God it’s natural! This is definitely a plus for me. Please, don’t judge me.
- Little of the product goes a very long way.
CONs
- Packaging isn’t too fancy
- I honestly can’t think of any further CONS, I am literally in love with this product fam.
In conclusion, I enjoyed every bit of this product use, and now that I am out, all I can think of is restocking and trying the other products in the TGIN range.
