The Milani- 2- in 1 foundation/concealer, is one that I got acquainted with quite early in my make up journey, and I have a lot to say about it. Buckle up!
Appearance
Being one of my pioneer foundations, I never really gave the look of this product much thought lol! However now, after several years, I would say that its appearance is not bad at all.
It is a foundation that comes in a carefully constructed glass bottle with a pump. It generally has a brown and black ensemble going on, as can be seen in the pictures with a dermacation between the two colours for special effects. All the information you need about the product can be found inscribed on the bottle.
Please note though, that the bottle now has a new look as seen below, I however feel like the old version is still cuter. Fear not, the new bottle also has a pump.
The product itself has colours according to the foundation shade/undertone picked. Its consistency nonetheless remains the same through the product line; it is a thick foundation that needs to be blended right, and in good time because it dries matte after a very short while!
The Milani 2 in 1 foundation/ concealer has a total net weight of 1 fl/oz which is equivalent to 30mls. It would also interest you to know that it comes in 45 unique shades as opposed to the number of shades available when I first got acquainted. It currently retails for about $13 dollars on Amazon, which I think is a pretty fair price for the quantity given.

Let’s delve into the promises of this 2-in- 1 foundation/concealer.
Just in case you haven’t caught the drift yet, this product is referred to as 2 in 1 because its manufacturers claim that it could be used as a foundation and also double as a concealer.
The product promises in details
The Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-In-1 Foundation + Concealer claims to provide medium to full coverage with a natural matte finish that stays all day.
It is said to be a long wear, oil-free formula that is waterproof and sweatproof, so you’re always photo ready.
The 2-in-1 also boasts of Combatting under eye circles, redness and imperfections. In conclusion, the manufacturers loudly proclaim their product as a multi-tasking foundation and concealer formula.
Did the Milani crew come through with their promises though?
Performance
Major cons
I would start by rating this product as a foundation. I am sorry but it doesn’t work for me! Yes, it is a medium, buildable coverage foundation, with a matte finish, but this matte finish isn’t pleasant.
Why I say this is because, there is little to no time to blend this foundation out before it dries. You need to be super fast with blending, else you would end up with a poorly applied, patchy foundation.
So in other words, blending the Milani 2-in- 1 as a foundation, could be pose a huge challenge, because it dries super fast. It is also important to note that, if you are a dry skin girlie, this product as a foundation would do you dirty! That matte finish just won’t fly. Other skin types could use it comfortably though, but on a nicely moisturized skin.
Furthermore, this foundation is definitely not sweat or water proof. Except there is something I might be missing, I can boldly tell you that I broke out with sweat while using this foundation, and it does smudge, a lot!
Finally, in my opinion, I don’t think this foundation has the 24hrs staying power the manufacturers boasted about. Maybe a few good hours (give or take 4-6) but that’s all you get.
Now to the Strengths
As a concealer though, I absolutely love the Milani 2 in 1. It works great especially for cleaning up my brows, and concealing my under eyes (after using an eye cream)
It is great for hiding blemishes, thanks to its medium buildable coverage, with a wide range of shades to suit your concealing needs. It is definitely one of my favourite budget friendly concealers.
Ratings
I would be doing something unusual with my rating of this product, seeing as it is a 2 – in -1 product. I would rate is as a foundation, and also as a concealer.
As a foundation, illd give it a 5 out of 10 at least for the efforts the manufacturers put in to proclaiming this product as a foundation.
However, as a concealer, illd give it a solid 8 out of 10. Reason is because it was my pioneer concealer back in the days, and it helped me with slaying a number of beats. It also worked great for helping to clean up/conceal my brows.
